Hannah had her 5th gup test last Friday night and it was my first test to give as an Instructor. I had a lot of fun with it. Hannah did great. She's starting to come around on some things so hopefully she can continue to get better. It was also our 10 Year Anniversary of the school being open. It's been in Smyrna for about 25 years but Master Blair took it over in 1999 under the new name along with some of the students and other Black Belts including my father. The students and I got together and I had some plaques made for the 4 Masters to show our appreciation.

Testing
Friday night was my Dan test(black belt). Finally after 20 years of this. I would go back for a while then quit. Go back and then quit. Well last year I decided to stick with, since it is the only thing I'm really good at. The test was about an hour and a half. It basically covers everything from white belt and up and I was so nervous for about the first 25 minutes. I thought I was going to be sick. The Grandmaster was there, along with eight Masters and seven other Dan members. They came from Arkansas, Florida, and Michigan. So the pressure was on. I finally got to a point where I was like, you know what I'm just going to have fun. I started smiling more and relaxing and soon everything was good. I filmed it and my mom took some pictures. I thought at first I didn't do as well as I have before but after watching it later everything looked really good.

Family Vacation
This year was our first family vacation. We went to Panama City Beach for five days. I have to say I can not be more pleased on how this vacation turned out. Normally I don't care for long trips due to the fact, the cost and after three or four days I'm ready to go home. Well, I was sick of the water after two days but I still had a great time. The kids played all day everyday and my parents were there to help out. This was also Hannah and Kendall's first trip to the ocean. Kendall loved the beach and wanting to swim(I mean be carried) out really far but Hannah was a little scared of it. At the pool it was the opposite. Kendall was a little timid at first and Hannah took off like a fish. The weather was perfect. It only rained for twenty minutes one day the whole time. The Hotel was great, probably the best one on the strip. We plan on going again next year with the whole family.(Jerimy and Papa)

Birthday
Last week I turned 28. Getting closer to the big 3-0! We had it at my parents house this year and had the best ribs in town. Slick Pig! We also played cornhole and got my mom to play. She actually quite good. No fireworks this year, the kids played with sparklers. We found out that Kendall is a little pyro. She burnt the hair off the back of my leg with one. The next day we hosted the fight at our house. The usual gang showed up. All in all it was a good weekend.

Ladder Golf
The first time I played this was at Papa's birthday. Hannah and I enjoyed it so much we decided to make our own. 1/2 inch PVC, cheap pack of golf balls, and some nylon rope, and that's it. About 20 bucks total. Oh, Kerri and I started to break in the Cornhole boards today and those things are slick! The bags were like hockey pucks shooting off the boards. Hopefully after a few weekends of play they will slow down.

Cornhole Boards are Finished!
I finished my cornhole boards last night. These are ACA(American Cornhole Association) regulation boards that measure 2' wide, 4' long and using a 2x4 frame. The back is 12" off the ground and the front is 4" from the ground.(wow I'm a dork) I'm pretty happy how they turned out and I even made the legs where they fold up instead of having to take them on and off. Now I have to finish sewing the bags and we will be good to go.
